Portland Reign Basketball

Mission

Portland Reign Basketball Academy is a year-round basketball club focused on developing the needed mental and physical skill sets required to be a successful basketball player. We not only develop our athletes’ basketball skills, we focus on ensuring they are great teammates on and off the court. Our goal is to produce as many high school basketball players as we can.

COMMITTED TO DEVELOPMENT

Portland Reign Basketball Academy strives not only to be a premiere basketball program, but a youth developmental organization. Reign coaches, staff and contributors all firmly believe that basketball can serve as a platform for developing leadership, teamwork, dealing with failure, dealing with success, facing adversity, goal-setting, and much more. Our club does not exist to provide your son/daughter with instant gratification. Through sports, as in life we learn by putting ourselves in uncomfortable situations. That is where our work as a basketball academy aligns with our goal to develop the youth to become accomplished adults in our community.

WHAT WE DO

We currently work with 250 kids around the Portland Metro area from Kindergarten - High School. We are proud to be one of the most diverse programs in the area, and grateful to compete at a high level and travel across the West Coast competing in events.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM PLAYERS & FAMILIES

We expect our players to devote time to the game. With practice comes progress. Repetition = success. Do not expect to see your child get better after signing up if he/she is not putting in any work on their own.

We expect our players to be at every practice and game. If there is an attendance issue do not expect to see your child play as much as other kids.

We expect understanding. This is a competitive team focused on doing what it takes to compete. Playing time is determined on performance, attitude, effort, and what you provide in helping the team.

We do not accept or respond to comments from families or parents for 24 hrs after a game unless it is positive. This eliminates any emotional comments that might be made.

We expect each family to cooperate and work together with the team to form a positive environment for their kids to be challenged.

OUR CLUB

Our teams have 3 seasons - Fall (youth & HS), Winter (youth), and Spring/Summer (youth & HS).

Teams practice twice/week, and potentially add in an additional skill sessions on weekends we have off.

Teams travel and play throughout the PNW, some teams will have the opportunity to go to bigger tournaments in Las Vegas, California, and Arizona in the Spring/Summer season.

Any other questions - email Jake.

TEAM FEES

Fees vary each season as some seasons are longer than others. We have scholarships available, and try to be one of the most affordable programs in the area.
